“Sustainability cannot be viewed as something separate from our business. For us, it means continually reviewing how we produce, how we use energy and how we can make every process more efficient. The aim is to reduce our environmental impact, but also to build a more efficient production model that is prepared for the challenges of the future,” explains Felipe González, Head of Sustainability and Environment at Félix Solís Avantis.

This approach extends beyond energy and forms part of a strategy to improve efficiency across the company’s entire operations and move towards a more circular production model. In 2025, over 98 per cent of the waste generated by Félix Solís was sent for recovery, diverting it from landfill.

As part of this approach, the Valdepeñas winery holds the Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection (SWfCP) certification from the Spanish Wine Federation, which accredits its environmental, social, economic and governance management.

“We are working to ensure that every step forward has a real impact on our operations. The solar farm is one of the most visible projects, but it forms part of a broader strategy to consume less energy, reduce emissions and make our production model increasingly efficient,” concludes González.
