Felix Solis estimates to pick around 250,000 tons of grapes in his wineries in Castilla- La Mancha
Felix Solis Yanez, president of Felix Solis Avantis SA shares the estimation of volume of the present 2015 harvest published by the Minister of Agriculture of Spain, who talks about similar figures to 2014 of around 24-25 million hectoliters of wine. The company foresees to enter around 250,000 tons of grapes in the wineries of the group in Castilla- La Mancha, which is a quantity very similar to 2014.

Felix Solis in Castilla- La Mancha receives grapes from more than 4,000 farmers in the facilities located in Valdepenas, Moral de Calatrava, Daimiel, La Puebla de Almoradiel and this year, also in the town of Villarrobledo.
Regarding the prices of the grapes in Castilla- La Mancha, the president has printed and published the “price list”, with increases in prices from 10 to 40% compared to 2014, depending on grape variety and destination.
White grapes like chardonnay and sauvignon blanc have increased their price in 40%, as well as other white grapes also have increased their prices. In DO Valdepenas red grapes, syrah, cabernet sauvignon and merlot grapes are bought at a price of 0.02404 euros/ kilo – sugar level, which means 30% more than 2014. In the case of the autochthonous tempranillo, also named “cencibel”, its price has increased 16% from 2014.
Regarding the quality, “at the moment the sanitary conditions of the grapes that have already been picked is very good”, affirms Mr. Solis, “which makes us think in high quality wines”.
