Félix Solís achieves ‘Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection’ certification for its Valdepeñas winery

10/2/2026

Félix Solís Avantis, a leading name in the Spanish and international wine sectors, has reached a new milestone in its sustainability strategy. Its headquarters and winery in Valdepeñas have officially been awarded the Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection (SWfCP) certification.

This accreditation, endorsed by the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) and recognised both nationally and internationally, confirms that the winery’s management and decision-making processes adhere to strict sustainability criteria. These are evaluated across four key pillars: governance, social impact, economic viability, and environmental stewardship.

A Commitment to the Environment

The SWfCP certification highlights the progress made by Félix Solís Avantis in critical areas, including:

  • The reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

  • Efficient water management and waste reduction.

  • Improvements in energy efficiency and the transition to renewable energy.

As a testament to this commitment, Félix Solís has bolstered its green energy efforts by launching a new solar farm at its Valdepeñas site.

This facility joins two existing photovoltaic installations, supporting the company’s goal of self-generating up to 25% of its total electricity consumption.

The new plant features over 5,400 solar panels with an installed capacity exceeding 3 MWp. The energy produced will be used entirely for production, bottling, and logistics, directly reducing the carbon footprint of the group’s flagship winery.

“By securing this certificate for our Valdepeñas winery, Félix Solís Avantis reinforces its commitment to a responsible growth model. This goes beyond winemaking excellence; it places environmental protection, process improvement, and people’s wellbeing at the very heart of what we do,” says Félix Solís Ramos, Commercial and Marketing Director.

Industry Recognition

This latest achievement solidifies the company’s sustainability strategy, aligning its winemaking tradition with modern environmental and social challenges. It follows other recent accolades, such as being named ‘Best Spanish Winery 2025’ at the prestigious AWC Vienna – International Wine Challenge, and receiving the Grand Packer award at the V Cartonplast Ibérica Sustainability Awards.
