Consigna Semi sweet is made from the Spanish native variety Airen. Originating from La Mancha, the grapes are disease-resistant and tolerate drought well.
Like France’s Vins de Pays, Vino de la Tierra de Castilla is a Spanish geographic indicator for wines from the autonomous region of Castilla-La Mancha. This is a region at an altitude of 700m covered with limestone and argillaceous soils that endure scarce rain falls.
The wine is pale lemon in colour with floral aromas and hints of fresh herbs. Crisp and light on the palate with good acidity and light fruit and floral flavours. An easy drinking wine. The balance between its sweetness and acidity provides a wonderful fine finish.
The perfect accompaniment for Asian or spicy foods. Also recommended with a sweet dessert.
Between 7- 9ºC
The best grapes are selected to produce this sweeter style wine. Modern wine making techniques are employed to produce a delicate wine. The fermentation is then stopped via cooling at the optimum moment.
